WHAT WE CAPTURE
Actions, specifically
We capture observable behaviour in a defined situation.
Did they find out what the customer actually needs?
Did they offer the product as an answer to that need?
Every observation points to the exact line in the transcript.
Hi there. I have picked out this gift, and I would like to pay for it now, please.
Yes, ma'am. Uh, do you want something more to make it better?
Thank you, but I think I will keep it simple for now. I am just looking to pay for the gift.
But actually, ma'am, since I am working as a, uh, in this shop for the long amount of time, AI am pretty sure that to make it better, the gift, you should add some, some more items.
I appreciate the suggestion, but I really just want to keep it simple today. Can I just pay for the item, please?
Ma'am, uh, can I please, uh, ask a question? … BWho is the person that you are giving this present?
Oh, it's for my niece. Her birthday's on Saturday. I want it to be nice, I'm just not sure what she'd like.
Uh, how old is she? She is, um, in school?
Yeah, she's twelve, middle school. She loves bright things. I just don't want to spend too much.
From my point of view, one of the best decision would be the chocolate, since it's really good. CThe young people in the middle school, they love chocolates, especially girls.
That sounds like a lovely idea, she does have a sweet tooth. I will take the chocolates.
Yes. Uh, I think the, one of the best idea for that would be, um, greeting card since, uh, she is in her young ages. CShe would love to get the greeting card and with your ideas on it, with your greetings on it.
That is a wonderful idea. A handwritten note would make it so much more personal. I will take the greeting card as well.
Pushed before learning anything
She said twice she wanted to keep it simple. The candidate pressed on with a generic pitch.
Discovered client needs
Stopped pitching and asked who the gift is for. Learned it is for her niece’s birthday.
Two add-ons, both agreed
Each offer was built on what she shared: chocolates for a schoolgirl, a card for a personal note.
80%↗
more accurate than a manual screening interview
With recruiter interviews, 16% of candidates who passed screening got an offer. With Sudden's AI-powered role-play assessment, 29% did.
IN FOUR STEPS
How it works
The simulation is built around the skills your role needs
It can be a typical customer conversation from the job, or an everyday situation that takes the same skills, like selling a used item online.
The candidate takes the simulation
Whenever it suits them, no scheduling. 15 minutes, by phone, in their language.
The agent maps behaviour to your criteria
Every observation links to the transcript line.
Your team makes the call
AI marks the passages that set candidates apart. You decide.
CLIENTS IN THEIR OWN WORDS

Everyone who applies is interviewed the same day
Screening capacity used to set the pace of our seasonal hiring. Now every applicant is interviewed as they arrive, however many come that week, and the recruitment team spends its day choosing people rather than reaching them.
Product Lead, Mass Hiring @ Salmon Bank

At ETG, we use Sudden to run four role-play simulations during a single interview. This helps us understand each candidate’s skills and match them with the role where they are most likely to succeed. After hiring, we continue using simulations to provide personalized feedback and support their development.

FAQ
Questions
01Will candidates actually talk to an AI?
Yes, and they know it. Before the interview starts, we tell every candidate they will be speaking with an AI and ask for their consent. If a candidate declines, our client can offer them a selection process without AI.
02What if the agent misjudges a strong candidate?
Like any LLM-based system, our agents can make mistakes. That is why our analysis only gives the hiring team a view of the interview. The final decision stays with people. What we add most is the chance to see what a candidate does in a situation relevant to the job.
03How do you know what "good" means at our company?
“Good” looks different at every company. Before any real candidate sees an interview, we study your business and agree with you on two things: which skills and behaviours lead to success in your team, and which situation would let candidates show them. Then we build the assessment and the scoring logic for you specifically. That is how we keep the assessment accurate for each client.
04What about accents and non-native speakers?
The speech recognition we use works correctly in more than 100 languages, including with non-native speakers.
05How long does it take to launch on the first role?
Two meetings with your team over two days are enough for us to build an assessment that fits your goals.
